The Beauty of the Southwest

The beauty of the Southwest.
I can say that now that I'm older
I appreciate the desert; the Southwestern desert.

I grew up in Southern California
(the desert southern part of CA)
all my life and never appreciated what we had surrounding us.
Now that I'm older and have moved to Arizona
I have learned to appreciate and love the desert
except for the hot summers, I don't know if I will
ever get used to the extreme heat.

Now let's talk about the real beauty.
Phoenix is situated in the Sonoran Desert
and everywhere you look you will see native flora.
My favorite are the Saguaros they don't look like much
but they really are amazing.

Now that the weather is perfect for outdoor activities
my husband, Riley and I decided to go and explore
our outdoors.

We found this piece of heaven, Papago Park, it feels
like you are walking out in the middle of
nowhere but really you are right in the middle of a bustling city.

Here are a couple of pictures from our trip
to Papago Park in Phoenix, AZ

Happy Monday and thanks or visiting :)

  1. Nothing I love more than seeing a "manly man" with a little dog! ;)

This park really does look like it's out, away from the city -- I looove finding little oases like this!
